The easy and effective way
to return to your 100% smile.
Composite bonding is a quick and effective way to make small cosmetic changes and repair chips, gaps, discolouration and fractured teeth using a specially formulated composite material. The treatment is also referred to as cosmetic bonding or dental bonding.
It’s one of our most popular Instant Smile Makeover treatments at Shields Dental Clinics in Limerick, Castletroy and Roscrea.
Composite bonding is the ideal cosmetic treatment for patients wanting to fix any imperfections in their smile including minor damage and gaps in teeth.
A big advantage to this treatment is that it is minimally invasive and pain free requiring no anaesthetic or drilling.
Affordable and longlasting.
Composite bonding is very affordable, effective, and less invasive than alternative solutions like dental veneers or dental crowns.
The procedure is pain free, requiring no anaesthetic or drilling and can usually be completed in just one appointment. Dental bonding treatment begins with an initial examination of your smile where your individual requirements and any potential problems will be identified and discussed before any dental work is started.
What is the treatment process?
Your dentist will start by choosing a resin colour that matches your tooth best so that the resin attachment looks natural. The dentist will typically recommend that you have any teeth whitening treatments first to get them to your preferred shade before treatment for bonding begins. Your tooth will then be prepared for treatment and then coated with a liquid to help the resin to attach smoothly. The resin will then be applied and moulded into the desired shape. It is hardened with a UV light before being shaped again and polished until it matches the rest of the tooth for the perfect finish.

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, your composite bond should last for many years.
